1. Hey Lasse from Dull Of Down, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What first got you into music?
The older brother of a friend who lives next door was a rock digger and had a lot of vinyl records of different rock bands. We listened to them and wondered how the hell someone could play like that. I got my first acoustic guitar when I was maybe 13 years old. It was a completely crappy guitar, but somehow I get the first chords out of it.
2. What’s your favorite 70’s artist?
Damn, it's a decade of good rock music, just like the 80s. Lots of good bands and songs. But if I have to pick one, I have to say Led Zeppelin.
3. What accomplishments do you see yourself achieving in the next 5 to 10 years?
Musically, I believe that in 5 years Dull of Down will be more grown up as a band than at the moment. New music is being made and released all the time. If you stare too much into the future, then you forget the present moment and the joy of doing. Let's just do our own thing and keep moving forward, piece by piece. Gigs and tours are our main goals.
4. Do you consider yourself a music fan?
Absolutely yes. A big fan. Music in all its forms is constantly present in life.
5. What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
I have an education in both the restaurant industry and advertising and marketing. I have done both and am currently doing the latter. In addition, I've done a lot of other work, sales work, delivery truck driver's work, nurse's work, for example... I think all work is valuable.
6. What is the biggest challenge of being an artist?
Artistically, of course every band would like to find their own way and style of making art (music in this case). Of course, you shouldn't overthink or calculate that either. I think the thing is to make your art from the heart and not fake anything. That is Rock. As an artist, it would be great if you could sometimes get full paid just for music.
7. Can you tell us a cringe memory of yours?
Once in Spain, on a backpacking trip, I got under the flood water flowing from Mount Teide. I was under the running water for probably several minutes. That's when I really thought I was going to die.
8. Who is your inspiration?
It varies. At the moment, I get inspiration by reading a book by a Finnish writer. On the other hand, you can find little sources of inspiration or grains all around, if you just keep your eyes and ears open.
9. Do you listen to podcasts?
Yes, I have listened to podcasts. I've even done some podcasts myself. However, I'm not a big fan of audio books, I prefer traditional books.
10. Do You Agree with the Pigeon?
I'm not sure what I agree but what the hell, why not! :)
The Pigeon added the new single to his Weekly Gems playlist on Spotify.
