Review
Check out the original album by The Forces: "Voyages"! The work opens with "Intro (Out of mind") whose vintage aesthetic and initial orchestral melody seems literally taken from the public domain. It feels like I'm listening to samples compiled in such a way as to give rise to something completely new and innovative, as happens in plunder-phonics. "I can't stand it, I can't get you out of my mind" is a more memorable chorus than it has any right to be - it hides a toxic obsession and darkness underneath. Definitely a catchy as hell intro, but unsettling (as hell). Meanwhile, at the heart of the album, "The Piece" features Cavalier and uses and abuses key-based melodies that contrast perfectly with powerful vocal performances. This is followed by an unreachable poignant flight with excellent diction that asks you how to move if you're buried deep inside. In short, "Voyages" and its audacious experimental take you on a psychedelic experience not to be missed!
