The Killers - Hot Fuss
post punk revival || pop rock

Summer blockbuster /10
The Killers' overblown debut delivers the kind of action and nostalgia that I can only find in Summer blockbusters, playstation 2 or arcade games. These exciting post punk revival fusions with new wave, disco and indie ask for néon lights and beg for a stadium. "Mr. Brightside" is an instantly recognizable anthem on jealousy for the ages and Brandon Flowers definitely stands out as a one of a kind frontman with his explosive voice. Unfortunately, "Hot Fuss" sometimes slows down with atmospheric and sober tracks that don't fit the band as well as their exciting arena hits.
